Beauty And The Beast at Murat Theatre

Beauty and The Beast, the musical, started out on Broadway back in 1994. There's no reason to lie about this, it was forgotten because of the success of the Lion King. Since that date, there have been various attempts to put the story back into the mainstream theater scene. After a successful run in London's West End, and a long tour of Australia, this new version is getting a US tour. One of the stops just so happens to be in Indianapolis, Indiana on Tuesday 5th May 2026.

In previous versions of the show, the backgrounds and the style of the costumes were both rather dark. This put a lot of attention on The Beast character. This current production is going in a completely different direction. The focus is more on Belle, as it should be. This time around, the audience is welcomed by beautifully crafted backgrounds and colorful costumes that burst off the stage. When you combine that with the uplifting soundtrack, you can see why both the British and Australian audiences loved this revival. Sorry for the spoilers, but the grand entrance that Belle's character and the different members of her French village make, is the perfect counterpart to The Beast's world. What happened in both the UK and Australia was that audiences were incredibly hooked by this point in the play. There's no reason why things will be different this Tuesday at Murat Theatre at Old National Centre and the entire US tour for that matter. Gaston's introduction and musical number tend to be fan favorites. It's really Belle that the story revolves around though, and for this US Tour they've chosen a great actress for the role. By the end of the event, you'll be singing and dancing as you stroll out of Murat Theatre at Old National Centre.
