Grammy Award winner David Byrne is going for the stars next year as he announced a long list of shows for his Who Is The Sky Tour 2026! The renowned American musician, filmmaker, visual artist, and writer is going around the globe with dates in Australia, Europe, the UK, and the US to sing his incredible album Who Is The Sky. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee will be performing a memorable weekend concert at the Murat Theatre on Saturday, 2nd May 2026!
Known as the lead singer, principal songwriter, and guitarist of the iconic new wave band Talking Heads, where he is a founding member, Byrne has proven his music and artistic legacy with projects not only in singing but also in film and photography as well. With his own Academy Award, Special Tony Award, and Golden Globe Award, this celebrated artist and his highly acclaimed tour extend for one more year. When iconic musician David Byrne and his American Utopia era ended in 2023, he turned an album and a tour into a Spike Lee-directed HBO film and a highly acclaimed Broadway show. Since then, Byrne’s loyal supporters and casual music fans have waited for his next move. And his Who Is The Sky? album has truly proved his undeniable talent. With a touring band of 13 singers, musicians, dancers, and even some cast from the American Utopia touring band, the Who Is The Sky Tour 2026 will go to numerous continents for hundreds of thousands of people to witness Byrne’s musical genius. Ultimate Classic Rock has reviewed his ongoing tour as “Byrne's current approach to performing is not what one might expect at a typical rock concert. The Who Is the Sky? tour pulls from elements of theater, dance and visual art, and includes a great deal of choreography with Byrne's bandmates.”
The lead singer of Talking Heads is still in his glory days. During his days in the band, they released eight amazing albums, with seven getting either gold or platinum. The band remains well-remembered today, and Byrne continues to put out music that speaks to large crowds and individual listeners. The occasional groove has not escaped the artist, and as his Who Is The Sky album has been produced by another Grammy Award winner who also worked with pop stars Miley Cyrus and Harry Styles, Kid Harpoon and Byrne collaborated to make another masterpiece. He’s now making sure every single person feels invited to listen to his newest music live, with so many shows scheduled for the album’s tour extension next year.
