DEVO is bound to whip up an immersive live concert experience at the Murat Theatre on Tuesday, 2nd June 2026. Fans, a.k.a. DEVO embarked on their 2023 farewell tour, but the call to mutate and don their energy domes once more in a live concert stage was far too compelling to brush aside. The band celebrated 50 years in the biz, yet it seems DEVO is destined to transcend their achievements and forge on with their philosophy of DEVOlution. DEVO-tees, score your tickets now, don't miss it!
In 2023, new wave's avant-garde visionary band, DEVO, dropped a rather untimely announcement of their hiatus after wrapping up a farewell 50th anniversary tour. In their typical DEVO - mutation mode, the band put on their energy domes headgear, switched on their devolution settings, and announced via Instagram: “The mutation cannot be contained”, signifying the imminent Mutate Don't Stagnate Tour 2026. In addition to the headliner shows, DEVO will take on the Coachella stage for their much-awaited set. From this festival circuit, DEVO will proceed with their major concert dates happening in key stops across North America.
“We can’t wait to hit the road in 2026 and perform for our fans across the West Coast,” states the band in a release. “It’s incredible to see our music resonate with fans who’ve been with us since the beginning, more than 50 years ago, to a whole new generation discovering DEVO for the first time. This tour is a celebration for everyone who’s been part of our journey.”
Frontman Mark Mothersbaugh further adds: “If you’re there, you’re going to get what you’re looking for”!
Media and music critics, and fans like you have fueled the frenzy!
“That was probably the tightest (but not without its sonic mess) 80-minute show I’ve ever witnessed, DEVO [is] still intensely frenetic without being frantic about it,” Magnet Magazine wrote in a review of their May ’25 show in Philadelphia.
Music critic Bob Lefsetz recently wrote about DEVO’s set at Cruel World:
“It occurs to me that this music is anything but dated… make no mistake, live DEVO ROCKS!”
Akron, Ohio, 1973. Two sets of brothers, Mothersbaugh (Mark and Bob) and the Casales (Gerald and Bob), along with Alan Myers, banded together and called themselves DEVO. As university art students, their music (d)evolved into an art-meets-music modality, deconstructing trends and genres that mutated into electronica-pop-new-wave that quickly propelled them to iconic heights. David Bowie himself declared DEVO as “the band of the future”. Their devolution philosophy and their peculiarly original sound resonate and remain relevant among generations of fans!! Nirvana's Kurt Cobain has said: “Of all the bands who came from the underground and made it in the mainstream, DEVO were the most challenging and subversive of all.”
