On Wednesday, October 9th, Sam Raimi’s cult horror classic will be brought to life like never before – combining the original 1981 film with a full, live orchestral performance of Joe LoDuca’s legendary score, right in sync with every scream, scare, and Deadite laugh. And all for us - the music and classic horror film lovers out there! Evil Dead In Concert is part of a massive national tour, slashing its way through cities like Denver, Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, and Detroit – but only one night in Indy, and it’s all happening here at the Murat Theatre on October 9th.

For fans of horror, gore, and a little twisted humor, The Evil Dead is one of the most iconic films of its genre. First released in 1981 and directed by a then-unknown Sam Raimi, the movie follows five friends who head to a remote cabin in the woods – and unknowingly unleash an ancient evil from the pages of the Necronomicon. With groundbreaking practical effects, over-the-top performances, and unforgettable lines like “Join us…” and “It’s a trick. Get an axe,” the movie became a midnight-movie favorite and sparked a multi-decade franchise. Now, it gets a new life – with every jump scare and demon scream backed by live musicians performing the full original score in real time.The score, composed by Joe LoDuca, is as eerie and experimental as the film itself – full of creeping strings, pounding drums, and supernatural atmosphere. This isn’t a local ensemble – it’s the official touring orchestra brought together just for this event by Black Ink Presents and Sony Music, the same team behind other cinematic concert experiences like Ghostbusters and Labyrinth.
