Murat Theatre at Old National Centre
One of the biggest YouTube stars on the planet, Kurtis Conner, is hitting the road with a live comedy set titled the Goodfellow World Tour. No word yet on whether his longtime friends, Danny Gonzalez or Drew Gooden, will be a part of the fun. What we do know, though, is that he's making a stop at the Murat Theatre at Old National Centre in Indianapolis on Friday, September 19th.
Friday night out at a comedy show is always a good idea. This event can certainly bring some new, fresh faces to the comedy scene here in Indy. Kurtis Conner has made a name for himself pretty much for being a professional hater! What a strange thing for someone coming out of Canada. Canadians have been known as the overly polite neighbor, yet Kurtis Conner breaks the mold. In any case, if you're familiar with his work, you'll know that he's primarily famous for his YouTube channel and the fact that he's turned himself into the Canadian version of Weird Al Yankovic for some reason. All jokes aside, he makes some pretty accurate points in his criticism of society and pop culture in general. That's what you can expect his live performances to include as well.
The short answer is yes. It's no secret that many YouTube, TikTok, and even former Vine stars struggle when they're thrown into the deep end to do a live show. The problem for a lot of them is that the format of their videos just doesn't translate well to the live shows. Kurtis Conner doesn't have that problem. He can mimic the format, talking about certain things in life and pop culture that are frankly absurd. If you think about it, he's not the only comedian doing that these days. His brand of comedy translates really well to the live shows. If you come out to the Murat Theatre at Old National Centre on Friday, September 19th, you'll have a ball with this man on stage.
Usually, at a comedy show, you'll be fine, even if you're looking at the action from the upper levels at the Murat Theatre.
