The Murat Theatre right here in our Indy backyard is the BEST place in the world to soak in all the sights sounds, scenes, and stories this city has to offer.Located right in the heart of downtown Indianapolis and known for our iconic architecture and the legacy of major artists who’ve passed through the performance halls, the venue is magical. So you KNOW when La La Land In Concert comes through and takes over the theatre this September for the night of a lifetime, we already know where we’re gonna be! That’s ‘cause on Saturday, September 19th we’re gonna catch La La Land right here as the full-length movie screens onstage in a way we’ve never seen before; We’re talking 53-piece orchestra, choir, and jazz ensemble: ALL performing under Justin Hurwitz’s Oscar-winning soundtrack live in perfect sync. The tour showcase has been everywhere around the world and back — and every time the film hits a new city, they bring a new orchestra local to the area with it! Including places like Paris’ Palais des Congrès, Toronto’s Meridian Hall, Monterrey’s Escenario GNP Seguros, Orlando’s Walt Disney Theater, Monte-Carlo’s Grimaldi Forum, New York’s Radio City Music Hall, and of course — right here in Indy at the Murat for all of our viewing and musical pleasure.

La La Land is the legendary modern musical that needs no introduction - but we’ll give you one just in case you’re not in the know! Taking place in a romantic, dreamlike version of Los Angeles where artists chase stardom and collide with destiny, the story follows jazz pianist Sebastian and aspiring actress Mia as they navigate ambition, heartbreak, and the bittersweet rhythms of falling in and out of love. Their world is vibrant, emotional, and full of that classic Hollywood sparkle — but as they follow their dreams, the highs and lows hit in ways you won’t fully understand until you see (and hear) it all unfold live on our stage this September. But for the rest of the twists, turns, and musical magic… you’ll just have to wait to see the movie here at the Murat! Though one tip: be prepared for that final epilogue — it gets everyone right in the feelings.And while the exact orchestra for the Indianapolis performance has not yet been publicly announced, the production is known for partnering with established symphonic ensembles and jazz musicians in every city it visits — from the Chicago Philharmonic to the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo and everyone in between, so we can absolutely expect an Indiana local crew to play for us the whole night through. Each group brings their own flavor and expertise to the score, turning every performance into a unique experience and an absolute must-see whether you’re a die-hard fan or just stopping through town for the night.
