In Times of Dragons Tour

A child prodigy and a musical genius, Tori Amos is a gifted singer-songwriter and pianist whose graceful meloedies and powerful messages struck the hearts of listeners around the world. Back with a new album "In Times of Dragons", the singer follows-up her 2021 record "Ocean to Ocean" with songs that chronics a metaphorical story about a fight for Democracy over Tyranny.

A press release describes this as something that reflects "the current abhorrent non accidental burning down of democracy in real time by the ‘Dictator believing Lizard Demons’ in their usurpation of America."

Marking her fourth release over the past decade, this marks the "Silent All These Years" hitmaker's continued passion for music that's authentic, emotional, and powerful.

The In Times of Dragons concert coming to Murat Theatre will feature special guest Bartees Strange.

About Tori Amos

A child prodigy and musical genius, she was the youngest student to ever be admitted to the Peabody Institute, studying classical piano from 1968 to 1974. When she was eleven years old, her scholarship was discontinued, and she later revealed that it was because of her interes in rock and popular music. On the side, she also didn't really like reading from sheet music.

Living life and music under her own terms, Amos won a 1977 teen talent contest when she sang "More Than Just a Friend". In her senior year, she co-wrote the song "Baltimore" with her brother for another contest involving the Baltimore Orioles. While she didn't win, the track became her debut pre-fame single.

With a stack of demos at age 17, Atlantic Records finally got back and signed a deal after A&R man Jason Flom flew over to Baltimore to get her to audition in person. From then on, her deep dive into music kicked off. In 1992, her re-worked album "Little Earthquakes" marked her commercial breakthrough, entering British charts and steadily gained attention in the U.S.

Now, we've got an artist who has plenty of succesful albums, a loyal fanbase, and reaping awards - including five MTV VMA nominations and eight Grammy Award nominations, and a prestigious win of the Echo Klassik award for her Night of Hunters classical crossover album. She's also listed among the "100 Greatest Women of Rock and Roll" at number 71 on VH1's 1991 list.

With a timely album coming up, it's an era you definitely shouldn't miss. Keeping up with records that chronicle tales that are relevant to real life, it's always a pleasure to hear from Tori Amos. On stage, feel her magical power take control "In Times of Dragons". Book those tickets now!
